 MORE: Mentor OutReach & Education Focus and Activities MORE: Mentor OutReach and Education is the umbrella program for many of ABCD’s outreach efforts. Through MORE, ABCD offers specially designed programs tailored to reach certain communities, such as medically underserved women, the families and friends of breast cancer patients, and minority populations. These initiatives include education about breast cancer and breast health, and are carried out by Mentors who volunteer to speak at health fairs, luncheons, community events and church meetings. The goal is to create awareness of breast cancer and ABCD so if and when a person - or someone he or she knows - is diagnosed with the disease, he or she will be better prepared to cope with it. |
